The Road to Berezino — American Forces Break Insurgent Defenses

Following the deaths of 17 Legionaries during Operation Second Chance, Tempest 2 successfully captured Gorka, Polana, and a heavily fortified insurgent special forces encampment. Meanwhile, photographs of Brigadier General Richard H. Caldwell fighting alongside American soldiers during an insurgent attack on Khelm have circulated internationally. Caldwell reportedly killed several insurgents with his M1911 pistol and refused evacuation until the attack ended. His survival and actions have strengthened the American expeditionary force's public image as the insurgency faces increasing pressure around Berezino.

Chernarus, 1999 — The Northeastern Insurgency

Following operations on Verona and Everon, the 7th Legion deployed to Chernarus on April 10, 1999, to assist the Chernarussian Defense Forces against an insurgency concentrated in the northeast. Although the CDF controls most of the country, insurgent forces have established strongholds around rural settlements, forests, and military installations.

The South Everon Veterans’ Uprising

Eight years after the Second Everon War, former FIA fighters and South Everonian veterans launched the largest internal uprising in the country's history. Tempest forces retook Regina, Isle d'Erquy, and a major veteran stronghold near the capital at enormous cost. More than 165 insurgents and mercenaries were killed, approximately 48 Legionaries were lost, and only two of seven American hostages survived. In response, President Alexander Voss has announced sweeping political, economic, and military reforms intended to address the grievances that fueled the uprising.

The Korengal Stalemate

Takistan continues to slowly gain control of Korengal Valley, but another costly operation has left both sides exhausted. Takistani forces destroyed a major Ansar cell and killed approximately 80 insurgents, but lost nearly an entire platoon and one of their three checkpoints. With only an estimated 55–75 fighters remaining in the valley, Ansar regional commander Kazmir must now decide whether to continue fighting for Korengal, request reinforcements from Al-Rashid, or preserve his remaining forces.
