- Tempest 2 Command — TBD
SITUATION
1. ENEMY FORCES: Following Operation Second Chance, insurgent forces continue to control several strategic positions throughout northeastern Chernarus. Although Tempest 1 successfully captured Dubrovka and established humanitarian facilities at Khelm, the American advance toward Berezino was halted following the disastrous engagement at Gorka. Seventeen Legionaries were killed during the previous operation, including Second Lieutenant Daniel 'Dizz' Mercer, Specialist Nathaniel 'Blood' Hayes, and Combat Lifesaver Adrian 'Para' Keller. The three soldiers became isolated during the attempted advance toward Gorka, where they inflicted substantial enemy casualties before being killed. Despite the losses inflicted by Tempest 1, insurgent forces retain control of Gorka, Polana, and several surrounding woodland positions. OBJ ALPHA — WOODLAND SPECIAL FORCES ENCAMPMENT: Intelligence indicates that an insurgent special forces element has established a concealed camp in the wooded terrain northwest of Dubrovka. The enemy is reportedly preparing an offensive operation against American or CDF positions. The encampment is heavily fortified with trenches, prepared fighting positions, and supporting elements. Enemy personnel are expected to be experienced, organized, and capable of mounting a determined defense. OBJ BRAVO — POLANA: Polana remains under insurgent control and has been developed into a fortified defensive position. Enemy personnel have established prepared positions throughout the settlement and surrounding approaches. Moderate to heavy resistance should be expected. The settlement provides insurgent forces with an important position south of Gorka and along the inland approaches toward Berezino. OBJ CHARLIE — GORKA: Following the previous engagement with Tempest 1, approximately half of Gorka's original insurgent garrison was eliminated. Enemy forces are now expected to maintain a lighter defensive presence. Nevertheless, surviving insurgents continue to occupy the town, and the possibility of reinforcements cannot be ruled out. 2. FRIENDLY FORCES: The 7th Legion's 1st Expeditionary Battalion continues operations in northeastern Chernarus in support of the Chernarussian Defense Forces. Tempest 1 has completed its previous operation but suffered significant casualties. Tempest 2 has been assigned responsibility for continuing the offensive and securing the remaining inland objectives. The CDF maintains control of most of Chernarus and continues supporting American operations against the northeastern insurgency. Valkyrie aviation elements may provide transportation, reconnaissance, casualty evacuation, and supporting aviation assets subject to availability and higher command authorization. 3. TERRAIN AND WEATHER: The operational area consists of dense woodland, rolling hills, rural settlements, and interconnected road networks. Forested terrain surrounding OBJ ALPHA provides substantial concealment for enemy positions. Gorka and Polana contain buildings and terrain features suitable for defensive operations. Weather conditions and visibility may affect ground movement, reconnaissance, and aviation support. Commanders must remain aware of the communications and coordination failures experienced during the previous operation.
MISSION
Tempest 2 will conduct offensive operations throughout northeastern Chernarus to capture Gorka and Polana, and, if operational conditions permit, neutralize an insurgent special forces encampment at OBJ ALPHA. The purpose of the operation is to eliminate remaining insurgent positions along the inland approaches to Berezino, disrupt enemy preparations for further attacks, and establish favorable conditions for the eventual isolation of the coastal city. Tempest 2 must secure OBJ CHARLIE (Gorka), capture OBJ BRAVO (Polana), and assess the feasibility of destroying OBJ ALPHA (Woodland Special Forces Camp). Successful completion will further restrict insurgent freedom of movement and allow American and CDF forces to prepare for future operations against Berezino and the foreign militant commander known as 'The Captain.'
EXECUTION
3. EXECUTION: COMMANDER'S INTENT: Tempest 2 will resume the offensive following Tempest 1's costly engagement at Gorka. The platoon must secure the remaining settlements, reduce insurgent control of the countryside, and prevent enemy forces from organizing further attacks against American and CDF positions. The previous operation demonstrated the consequences of inadequate communications and isolated deployments. Tempest 2 leadership must maintain accountability, coordination, and situational awareness throughout the mission. PHASE I — DEPLOYMENT AND RECONNAISSANCE: Tempest 2 will deploy from designated American-controlled territory and establish communications with higher command. Platoon leadership will conduct reconnaissance of the operational area, identify enemy positions, and determine the appropriate sequence for engaging the assigned objectives. OBJ ALPHA — WOODLAND SPECIAL FORCES ENCAMPMENT: Located in the wooded terrain northwest of Dubrovka, OBJ ALPHA contains an insurgent special forces element preparing for an offensive operation. The encampment is expected to contain entrenched defensive positions, prepared fighting locations, and supporting personnel or equipment. Tempest 2 is authorized to attack and neutralize this position if operational conditions permit. Destroying the camp would disrupt a potential insurgent offensive and eliminate a capable enemy formation. OBJ ALPHA is a secondary objective. Commanders must evaluate the potential benefits against the risk of substantial casualties. The destruction of this position is desirable but is not required for mission completion. OBJ BRAVO — POLANA: Tempest 2 will conduct an assault against the fortified insurgent settlement of Polana. Enemy forces are expected to occupy prepared positions throughout the town, with defensive works covering likely approaches. Tempest 2 must eliminate organized resistance, clear the settlement, and establish control of the objective. Once secured, the platoon will report enemy casualties, remaining hostile activity, and the condition of the settlement to higher command. OBJ CHARLIE — GORKA: Tempest 2 will advance toward Gorka and eliminate the remaining insurgent garrison. Following Tempest 1's previous engagement, enemy strength is believed to have been significantly reduced. However, the town remains contested, and the possibility of newly arrived insurgents must be considered. Tempest 2 will clear hostile positions and secure the town for American and CDF forces. Gorka is also the location of the final engagement involving Second Lieutenant Daniel Mercer, Specialist Nathaniel Hayes, and Combat Lifesaver Adrian Keller. The loss of these soldiers has made the town a significant location for the 7th Legion. Securing Gorka will complete the objective that Tempest 1 was unable to accomplish and establish a stronger American position west of Berezino. PHASE II — CONSOLIDATION: Following the capture of the primary objectives, Tempest 2 will consolidate its forces, establish security, account for casualties, and report the status of all assigned objectives. Any intelligence recovered concerning insurgent movements, planned attacks, supply routes, or the location of The Captain will be forwarded to higher command. PHASE III — TRANSITION TO CDF CONTROL: Where available, CDF forces will coordinate with American personnel to establish follow-on security within captured settlements. Tempest 2 will prepare for extraction, reinforcement, or additional tasking as directed by higher command. END STATE: Gorka captured and remaining insurgent resistance eliminated; Polana secured; insurgent special forces camp neutralized if feasible; American casualties minimized; intelligence collected; insurgent access to Berezino further restricted; conditions improved for future operations against The Captain. Berezino itself is not an objective of this operation.
SUSTAINMENT
4. SUSTAINMENT: LOGISTICS: Northeast Airfield will continue serving as the primary American logistics and resupply hub in northeastern Chernarus. Tempest 2 will deploy with sufficient ammunition, medical supplies, and transportation to sustain operations across multiple objectives. Resupply requests will be coordinated through Tempest 2 Command and higher headquarters. MEDICAL: Each squad will maintain its assigned medical personnel and equipment. Casualties will be stabilized and moved to designated casualty collection points when conditions permit. CASEVAC requests will be coordinated through Tempest 2 Command. Valkyrie aviation support may be requested subject to aircraft availability and operational conditions. TRANSPORTATION: Ground transportation will be assigned according to mission requirements and available assets. Movement between objectives will be coordinated by platoon leadership. AVIATION: Valkyrie may provide reconnaissance, transportation, or supporting aviation capabilities when authorized. Aviation availability is not guaranteed. DETAINEES: Captured insurgents will be secured, searched, medically assessed when necessary, and transferred to designated American or CDF authorities. CIVILIAN CONSIDERATIONS: Civilian populations may remain within Gorka, Polana, and surrounding rural areas. Tempest 2 will take appropriate precautions to avoid unnecessary civilian casualties and property damage.
COMMAND & SIGNAL
5. COMMAND AND SIGNAL: COMMAND: Tempest 2 Command retains tactical control of assigned ground elements throughout the operation. Squad leaders are responsible for maintaining personnel accountability, reporting enemy contact, and coordinating movement with platoon headquarters. Higher headquarters retains authority to modify objectives or terminate operations based on battlefield conditions. SIGNAL: All elements will utilize assigned platoon and squad radio networks. Frequencies and callsigns will be distributed during the operational briefing. Regular situation reports are required following significant enemy contact, objective completion, casualties, or changes in operational conditions. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: Following the communications failures that contributed to the deaths of Tempest 1-6 and his accompanying soldiers, all elements must confirm tasking and maintain contact with platoon headquarters before conducting independent movements toward contested objectives. Personnel accountability and coordination between maneuver elements are command priorities. RULES OF ENGAGEMENT: Positive identification of hostile forces is required before engagement. Civilian populations and protected structures must be safeguarded. Surrendering enemy personnel will be detained and treated appropriately. COMMANDER'S MESSAGE: Tempest 1 fought for every inch of ground between Khelm and Gorka. Seventeen Legionaries did not return, including three men whose final stand at Gorka will not be forgotten. Their sacrifice has weakened the enemy, but the mission remains unfinished. Tempest 2 has been assigned the responsibility of completing that mission. Gorka must be secured. Polana must be taken. And if the opportunity presents itself, the insurgent special forces preparing their next attack must be eliminated. The road to Berezino will not be opened through sacrifice alone. It will be secured through discipline, coordination, and decisive action. Finish what Tempest 1 started.
